“Enrollments are at an all-time high,” she continued. “We actually sold out the whole show as well as the registrations with 1600 attendees. There were just a handful of walkups that unfortunately we couldn’t accommodate today. We are excited and looking forward to continuing to have a top-notch continuing education program as well as a showroom here today. »

“This year’s theme is ‘Fighting Fear, Feeding the Nation,'” Anderson said, “so we will have CAPCA Captain as well as Enemy Doctor here this morning.

Anderson reflected, “You know, for us, CAPCA really represents Pest Management Advisors (PCAs) for crop production, turf and ornamentals. As a requirement of their continuing education, they need 40 hours to renew [their certification]. For us, combining continuing education and networking is so valuable to them as they enter the new year. »

Some of the “Top Gun” people speaking this year, according to Anderson, “obviously are some of our major sponsors. Bayer CropScience and CMF Company both make high-level presentations. We also have Kern County Commissioner of Agriculture Ruben Arroyo talk about the proposed new regulations for buffer zones around schools, so this will be a great conversation starter for all of our members.

“We appreciate all the support we’re getting,” Anderson said. “It’s so valuable to us. We exist thanks to volunteers and we exist thanks to our members. We are grateful to all of them.
