Residents of downtown, downtown and southern Omaha who hope to serve on the Douglas County Council of Commissioners have until 4:30 p.m. on October 4 to apply for the open seat. Douglas County Clerk / Comptroller Dan Esch, Douglas County Treasurer John Ewing and Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine will review the candidates and select someone to fill the seat vacated by the death of Commissioner Mike Boyle. Boyle died on September 13. Nebraska State law requires the County Clerk / Comptroller, Treasurer and Attorney to fill the vacant position Requirements: Must be a registered voter Must be a resident of Douglas County Board District 1 for 6 months District 1 includes downtown and downtown Omaha, from approximately 42nd Street East to the Missouri River and south approximately Douglas Street to the Douglas / Sarpy County line. Conditions:

  • Must be a registered voter
  • Must be a resident of Douglas County Board District 1 for 6 months

District 1 includes downtown and downtown Omaha, from approximately 42nd Street east to the Missouri River and south from approximately Douglas Street to the Douglas County line / Sarpy.
